VA disability payments and SSDI are quite different. Check if your condition is linked to your service for VA benefits. SSDI is focused on whether your impairments prevent you from working. VA disability looks at all your conditions together to come up with a total disability rating, but individual conditions are often rated at lower percentages. For instance, a condition qualifying for SSDI might only be rated up to 40% by the VA.

If the total of your service-connected disabilities reaches 70% or higher, exploring Individual Unemployability could be beneficial.
