What I've found out makes it seem like it's the opposite. When you have a VA disability rating, it looks like SSDI might get approved faster.

What I've found out makes it seem like it's the opposite. When you have a VA disability rating, it looks like SSDI might get approved faster.
For me, things didn't speed up until I received 100% IU, and included that decision in my third appeal. The process with the ALJ seemed to move quicker then, compared to my first and second denied claims. Anecdotal, of course.

But to respond to @Wizard, applying for and getting SSDI won't impact your VA benefits, so I'd encourage you to apply if you're eligible.

No, they are separate disability programs. SSDI operates under different eligibility requirements though. So, it's advisable to apply sooner than later.
