I'm a veteran with 100% P&T. Does anyone know if urgent care visits are covered? Also, how can I find out which urgent care facilities that I can go to?
If having an emergency, go to the nearest emergency room. Just remember to call the VA Emergency Line to tell them about your visit as they want you to report it within 72 hours.
If you think your life or health is in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. You don’t need to check with us first. But if you go to a non-VA facility—even one that’s in our community care network—you must follow certain rules so that we can cover the cost of your care...
Check that the urgent care you go to is on the VA's approved list. Every veteran gets to use urgent care 3 times a year. When you get there, tell the front desk you're using one of your urgent care visits. They should call the VA right away to check if your visit is covered.
Find a VA medical center, clinic, hospital, national cemetery, or VA regional office near you. You can search by city, state, postal code, or service. You'll get wait times and directions.
