question Is additional health insurance necessary with VA care?

Aside from the VA, what additional healthcare coverage do you all have? Considering the limitations in accessing immediate care at any hospital or clinic, it seems wise to have backup health insurance.

However, I'm uncertain. Any suggestions?

I've got insurance from my job right now, but I'm thinking of retiring at 60 and just using the VA until I can get Medicare when I'm 65. I'm hoping that'll be enough!

I still have Tricare until I have to switch to Tricare for Life.

I have Medicare Part A and Part B.

You can see doctors outside the VA. Just make sure to ask for doctors who are in the VA network.

We still use Tricare. Some veterans also have Medicare along with Tricare for Life, and some others have insurance from their jobs.
