Two things I take full advantage of are the veteran discounts at Home Depot and Lowe's.
Home Depot offers a 10% veteran and military discount up to $400 in a year, which is quite the savings with lumber! You have to register for this so that they can track the spending cap.
Lowe's also offers a 10% discount with some terms of their own as well. You have to register for this too, but you might already be registered as they use one of the same login methods for the VA, ID.me.
