question Can my attorney receive compensation for a rating increase they didn't handle?

Can a VA accredited attorney get compensation for an increase that is not part of any appeal they're working on for me?

I'm asking because I have an attorney for a claim, but I recently received my back pay for an increase and the attorney wasn't paid.

I'd say the answer to that is in your contract/retainer agreement. Might want to take another look at that to see.

Some attorneys only cash in if they win your appeal, while others get paid for both winning the appeal and you receiving an increase.
