intro Giving my all in the Marines and knowing when to stop

This is a JVHV member's introduction during the muster's roll call

I joined the Marines planning to serve just four years, but things took an unexpected turn when I made Sergeant in my first enlistment. Motivated, I reenlisted once more, though I knew it'd be my enlistment. I gave those 8 years my all, volunteering for anything and everything I could.

After service, my PTSD rating started at 50%, but life's rollercoaster and a later VA reevaluation pushed it to a 100% permanent and total disability.

Life after the Marines has been a mix of unexpected turns and challenges.

Welcome, brother.

Sometimes life doesn't always pan out as we hope.

I wish you the best of luck in finding something else that can bring you joy.
