    Reach out to the SSA office, and they should be able to provide the details. A benefit letter that explains everything should arrive eventually. It takes about 2 months to start receiving your checks and roughly 5 months to receive your back pay.

    Regarding my SSDI claim, it seemed like I had to provide much more evidence than dealing with the VA in order to win my claim and appeal. Consequently, I submitted all of my medical records, starting from my teenage years and continuing through my military service and post-service treatment records.
