I know everyone has their own opinion, but which military-affiliated credit union is the best?

Right now, I'm with a local bank but want to switch to a credit union. I'm looking to improve my credit score and to save more money.

I live in southern Oklahoma.

We moved from USAA to Navy Federal and so far, we're pretty happy. They're not amazing, but they're definitely better than USAA.

Retired USAF here and I chose to bank with Navy Federal Credit Union.

They have competitive rates and commendable customer service.

My primary bank is Navy Federal.

I use both their AMEX More Rewards Card and Visa cashRewards. This allows me to get about a hundred a month in cash back by using only credit and paying the cards off each month. The AMEX gives me 3% at the grocery store, gas stations, and restaurants while the Visa gives me 1.75% everywhere else. It's nice to make money by spending money as I typically would!

They even have a physical branch that might be close to you, if that's of importance.

I also have PenFed because they have a 2% cash back card, but I only use it as a backup bank when needed, active with the bare minimum.

Navy Federal offers a nRewards Secured card to help build and repair credit while also earning rewards. I'm unsure what PenFed has to offer to build credit.

I'd always say go with a credit union instead of a bank. I've been with Navy Federal since 2005 and haven't had any problems.
